Less than a year after being named the Chief Executive Officer of Providence-based Health First CHC, Shelley Gobin was recently recognized at the Kentucky Health Center Network (KHCN) 2019 Leadership Conference by being awarded the Outstanding Leader Award.

"She has conquered a lot of adversity during her Community Health Center tenure, and has brought the organization much success with grace and patience," stated CEO of the KHCN Jennifer NeSmith.

Gobin earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of the Cumberlands and associates degree in nursing from Madisonville Community College. She has been a Registered Nurse in Kentucky since 2003. Prior to obtaining her RN license, she worked as a LPN from 2001 to 2003.

She joined Health First in 2012 as Director of Nursing and Quality Director. She was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2015 and then appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2018.
