The Providence Police Department (PPD) continues to grow, with the addition of a fourth patrolman to the department last week.

Matthew Isaac Frias, 29 of Providence, was sworn in by Mayor Doug Hammers last week. He joins Matthew Benton, Michael Tabor and Carl Scheer.

Frias attended Providence Elementary School before graduating from Webster County High School in 2008.

He has worked for Alliance Coal for the last eight years.

"Isaac will be a great asset to the agency and we welcome he and his family. ," said Chief Todd Jones. "He came with a lot of praises and positive recommendations. His ethics, morals and caring attitude for the citizens of this town is exactly what I want in my officers."

Frias will be operate as a provisional officer until he can attend the police academy.
