Webster County Judge Executive Steve Henry signed an executive order on Monday ending the county-wide burn ban that has been in effect since September 23. However, that still does not allow unregulated burning.

Under KRS 149.400, October 1 through December 15 is state-wide "Fire Hazard Season." During that period, it is unlawful for any person to set a fire or hire someone to set a fire within 150 feet of any woodland or brushland, except from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., or when the ground is covered with snow.

Before burning, all residents are urged to contact the Kentucky Department of Forestry at 502-564-4496 or visit their website at www.forestry.ky.gov.
