Four low-income families in Dixon will soon have access to city water and sewer, and best of all it may come at no cost to those customers, thanks to American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding leftover from 2021.

Mayor Carolyn Townsend announced at Monday’s commission meeting that the city had $81,000 left in funding from last year, and is expected to get another $114,000 in 2022. Townsend stated that should be more than enough to get these low-income families in Dixon city sewer and water.
