A fugitive and convicted child molester was captured in Providence last week after the Providence Police Department was alerted that the suspect was hiding out in a home on Middle Street in Providence.

According to the KSP's sex offender database, Johnny Mark Puckett, 59 of Morganfield, was convicted of child seduction of a 12 year old in the state of Indiana and began supervised release on Aug. 29, 2016. That release was scheduled to last through Aug. 27, 2026.

According to the KSP database, Puckett also had convictions for child molesting (3 counts) and sexual misconduct with a minor.

After moving out of a home located at 95 Enterprise Road, in Morganfield, police say

that he failed to update his location with the state sex offender registry, which triggered a warrant from Union County for that violation. It also served as a probation and parole violation on his previous conviction in Indiana.

Police chief Todd Jones said he responded to a residence on Middle Street and made contact with Puckett, where he was taken into custody. He was transported to the Webster County Detention Center.
