Residents who have been craving Mexican food since the sudden closure of La Casa in Providence will not have to wait long to get their fix.
On Tuesday the owners of another successful Mexican restaurant chain finalized paperwork to take over the facility on Westerfield Drive in Providence and expect to be open within the next few weeks.
"We are coming to Providence!" said Apolinar Mendez, co-owner of Los Agave's Mexican Restaurant, which has locations in Princeton and Eddyville. "I hope we can open in the next two or three weeks."
Los Agave's Mexican Restaurant has been in operation in Princeton since 2010.

"My partner also owns several stores in Tennessee, so we know what we are doing," said Mendez. "We want to do business in Providence. We think we can give people there good service."
The J-E will have more information on the opening of Los Agave as the restaurant prepares to open.
City officials say that La Casa owner Isreal Delapaz paid off his tourism tax balance to the city in mid-September, then met with employees of the establishment to announce the closure, which was immediate.
