A brief and relatively uneventful meeting of Providence City Council last Tuesday took care of just one piece of business.
The council voted to appoint Mayor Butch Hackney as local director of affairs in relation to the Kentucky Municipal Energy Association. The move allows the mayor to work with the statewide cooperative that works with cities that sell electric utilities to customers.
