John Waters

A Providence man accused of rape and sodomy entered a guilty plea in Webster County Circuit Court last week.

John David Waters, 30 of Providence, was arrested in November 2018 by the Caldwell County Sheriffs Department after a warrant for his arrest was issued following an investigation by the Kentucky State Police.

Details of the crimes, the investigation and the arrest were not released.

First degree rape, a class B felony, is charged when sex with the victim is forced, or when the victim is someone who is not capable of consenting to the act because they are either physically helpless or are less than 12 years old.

Waters was sentenced to ten years for each of the charges against him, to run concurrently for a total period of ten years. He was also ordered to face a lifetime registration as a sex offender.
