Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear will visit Webster County on Wednesday to award a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to the county for construction of the West Kentucky Training Center, a partnership between the Fiscal Court, Henderson Community College and Madisonville Community College.

The facility has already been approved to house the community colleges’ electrical lineman school and commercial drivers license program.

According to Judge Executive Steve Henry, applications have also been filed to relocate the diesel mechanics program to Webster County.

Webster County has been awarded $472,000 in CDBG funding, which will be used to purchase and remodel the office and garage area of the former Dotiki Coal Mine/Webster County Coal in Lisman.
