Jimmy R. Mooney, 71 of Dixon, KY passed away at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, IN on Wednesday September 29, 2021. He was a Coal Miner for several years and owned several car washes throughout Western Kentucky.

He served one term as District One magistrate in Webster County. He also owned several different properties throughout his lifetime. He was a member of Walnut Grove Church of Christ in Union County. He was the son of the late Calvin and Jewell Mooney.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years Sandy Cartwright Mooney of Dixon, KY; one son Daniel Mooney(Amelia) of Glasgow, KY; one stepson Preston Hunt of Dixon, KY; one stepdaughter Susie Hunt of Clay, KY; two sisters Linda Smith of Olathe, KS and Rita Stone of Nebo, KY; one brother Curtis Mooney of Fresco, TX; three grandchildren Joshua Stone, Quinn Mooney and Heath Mooney and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Sunday October 3, 2021 at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Minister Bill Williams will officiate. Burial will be in David Rest Cemetery in Boxville, KY. Visitation will be from 4-8pm on Saturday and from 8am until service time on Sunday at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at www.townsendfuneralhomeinc.com
