Ruby Lee Jones, was born in Meridian, Mississippi to John and Annie Mae Randolph. She was the second of nine children. Ruby attended Rosenwald High School in Providence KY, and attended Crispus Attucks Community College in Indianapolis, IN.

Ruby expected Christ at an early age at New Hope Baptist Church in Meridian, Mississippi. She later united and was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Providence, KY. As a member of Pleasant Hill, she was a Sunday School teacher, she served on the Mother’s Board, a member of the Dorcas Circle, and served where she was needed at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Ruby was also a food nutritionist out of Louisville, Ky. She worked for the voting board, and was a member of the Women’s Relief Corp.

Ruby will always be remembered for her homemade biscuits and delicious donuts. Ruby babysit a lot of children in the community, and everyone who met Ruby knew her as “Mama Ruby”. She was a kind sweet soul, generous, a faith warrior, a disciplinarian, and a woman with resilience. Her favorite Bible scripture was Psalm 23.

Ruby leaves to cherish her precious memories two daughters ; Verlecia (Larry) Agnew, Paducah. KY, and Yolanda Webb of Providence, KY. Three sisters Cressie Mae Davis, Martha Wilburn of Indianapolis. IN; Yvonne Mitchell of Detroit, MI. One brother Issac (Anne) Randolph of Indianapolis, IN. Three grandchildren: TaWanna (Garland) Copeland of Evansville, IN, Randy Jones (Kimberly Broad) of Carmel, IN, Vinessa Jones, and Marsha Qualls of Providence, KY; Eleven great grandchildren: Montray, Montera, JaNessa, Jalicina, Jasmine, Devon, Trent, Kisja, Braxton, Avery, and Gavin. Three great great grandchildren: Aanyliah, Naiomi, and Kashton; and a host of nieces, cousins, Godson-Quentin Stevenson, special caregivers, precious friends, and a loving church family.
