Viola Ruth Melton Winings ,85 of Symsonia, KY formerly of Providence, KY passed away at Calvert City Convalescent Center on Wednesday April 19th, 2023. She was a member of Slover Baptist Church in Dixon, KY.
She was retired and had worked over 40 years at Moen Faucet in Providence, KY, she served as past president of the local United Steelworkers of America in Providence, KY. She loved fishing, ballroom dancing, painting artwork and working outdoors in her flowers and yard.
She was the daughter of the late Earl Branson and Opal Taylor Hughes. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Randol Melton, a nephew Tommy “Pee-Wee” Branson and a niece Janie Branson Gibson. Survivors include his son Rickie(Karen) Melton of Symsonia, KY; two grandchildren Candice(Andrew) Long and Charles(Kelly) Randall “Chuck” Melton; five great grandchildren Blake Melton, Bailey Melton, Allison Melton, Kobe Neckel and Emma Whitnel and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Sunday April 23, 2023 at 12:30pm at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Rev. Ronnie Green will officiate. Burial will be in Slover Cemetery in Dixon, KY.
