Both Webster County High School basketball teams are already back working hard on the hardwood this summer as the Lady Trojans and Trojans both picked up a pair of victories over the weekend.
The Trojans defeated Russellville by 22 points before dismantling Christian County 59-36 in a shootout at the Hopkinsville Sportsplex on Friday night. Webster played in the team camp at Bethel College -- where former Webster standout Cayden Edmonson currently plays -- on Tuesday, but the conclusion of those games were after press time. The Trojans will also play in Western Kentucky University's team camp this weekend.
The Lady Trojans dominated in their first two games of summer ball in the Bosse Lady Bulldogs Sizzler Team Camp as Webster outscored its opponents by a combined score of 123-31.
Webster defeated Evansville Reitz 59-19 in the first game as Marissa Austin led with 25 points while Raigan Price and Dezeray Browder had 11 each.
The Lady Trojans then absolutely throttled Evansville Harrison as the final score was 64-12. Austin once again led the way with 20 points while freshman Brooke Shepherd had 14 and eighth grader Addi Thompson added nine. Price, Browder, and Mariah Austin each tallied six points in the victory.
Webster's next game will be next Wednesday at Evansville Harrison as the Lady Trojans play McLean County and Harrison.
