The volleyball season kicked off on Thursday with victories over Christian County. The JV team won in two sets (21-12, 21-13).

Kylie Hardison led with 6 aces, followed by Sydney Shoulders with 4. Mary Kate Rakestraw led the attack with 4 kills, followed by Lilly Thurby with 3. Hardison also had 6 assists. The varsity squad also defeated Christian County in four sets (26-28, 25-23, 25-21, 25-21). Audrie Ellis led at the service line with 8 aces, followed by Lilly Thurby with 5. Maggie Jones led the attack with 11 kills, followed by Lacey Pugh with 6, and Mary Kate Rakestraw with 5. Jones also led with 3 blocks and Ellis led the team in digs.

Marshall County visited the Lady Trojans for a Saturday matchup and left town with victories. The JV team lost in two sets (9-21, and 12-21).

Kylie Hardison led with 3 aces, followed by Bailey Allen with 1 ace. Sydney Shoulders picked up 2 kills, followed by Lacey Pugh and Mary Kate Rakestraw with 1 kill each.

The varsity squad also lost to Marshall County in straight sets (16-25, 16-25, 22-25).

Lilly Thurby led with 4 aces, followed by Lacey Pugh, Karis Sallee, and Kylie Hardison with 1 ace each. Mary Kate Rakestraw led the attack with 5 kills, followed by Thurby and Pugh with 3 kills each.

The Lady Trojans will host University Heights on Thursday and then travel to Madisonville and Henderson the following week.
