The Lady Trojans dropped a pair over the weekend on the road at the West Kentucky Hoops Classic in Princeton.

Webster County, who came into the holiday tournament at 4-4 started off Saturday morning against the Mayfield Lady Cardinals.

To start the game, the Lady Trojans outscored the Lady Cardinals 14-11 at the end of the first quarter. Then in the second quarter the Lady Cardinals would outscore the Lady Trojans 13-8 to give the Lady Cardinals a 2 point lead at halftime with the score being 24-22.

Then to start the second half the Lady Trojans would once again outscore the Lady Cardinals 14-11 again in the third quarter to make the score 36-35 with the Lady Trojans in the lead heading into the 4th quarter. In the fourth quarter the Lady Trojans would get outscored again by the Lady Cardinals this time 16-6 and the Lady Trojans just lost control of the game and ended up losing to the Lady Cardinals by a score of 51-42 as the Lady Trojans fall to 4-5 on the season.

The leading scorer for the Lady Trojans was senior point Marissa Austin with 15 points while knocking down 2 three pointers and shooting 1 for 1 from the free throw line. Sophomore guard Madison Hinton tallied 9 points while knocking down 3 three pointers. Senior forward Dezeray Browder scored 6 points while freshman guard Brooke Shepherd contributed 4 points. Freshman guard Katelyn Cates added 4 points while knocking down a three pointer and shooting 1 for 2 from the free throw line. To round out the scoring for the Lady Trojans, sophomore forward Sydney Shoulders scored 3 points while junior forward Adeline McDyer added 1 point.

As a team, the Lady Trojans knocked down 6 three pointers but shot 4 for 9 from the free throw line. The leading scorer for the Mayfield Lady Cardinals was senior guard Kyler Henson with 15 points while knocking down 3 three pointers and shooting 4 for 5 from the free throw line.

The Webster County Lady Trojans continued their regular season later that day against the Louisville Central Lady Yellow Jackets.

The Lady Trojans started the game by getting outscored by the Lady Yellow Jackets 18-13 at the end of the first quarter. Then in the second quarter the Lady Yellow Jackets would continue to take control of the game against the Lady Trojans and outscored them again 20-11 as they took a 14 point lead heading into halftime with a score of 38-24 over the Lady Trojans.

To start the second half, the Lady Yellow Jackets once again outscored the Lady Trojans this time 13-9 to give the Lady Yellow Jackets an 18 point lead with the score being 51-33 heading into the fourth quarter. In the fourth and final quarter, the Lady Trojans would outscore the Lady Yellow Jackets 26-16 and tried to fight their way back into the game but just couldn't overcome their deficit and was defeated by the Lady Yellow Jackets by a score of 67-59 as the Lady Trojans move to 4-6 on the season.

The leading scorer for the Lady Trojans was senior point guard Marissa Austin with 26 points while knocking down 3 three pointers and shooting exceptionally well from the free throw line at 13 for 15 from the free throw line. Senior forward Dezeray Browder tallied 9 points shooting 1 for 4 from the free throw line. Junior forward Adeline McDyer contributed 9 points knocking down a three pointer and shooting 4 for 6 from the free throw line.

Freshman guard Katelyn Cates scored eight points while knocking down 2 three pointers and shooting 2 for 4 from the free throw line. To round out the scoring for the Lady Trojans, sophomore forward Sydney Shoulders scored 2 points while freshman guard Brooke Shepherd added 5 points while shooting 5 for 6 from the free throw line.

As a team, the Lady Trojans knocked down 6 three pointers and shot 25 for 35 from the free throw line. The leading scorer for the Louisville Central Lady Yellow Jackets was sophomore guard Amaya Asher with 28 points while knocking down 3 three pointers and shooting 5 for 8 from the free throw line.
