The Lady Trojans took advantage of a break in the weather to head to Breckinridge County on Saturday to face the Lady Tigers.

Breckinridge County currently sits atop the standings in the Third Region with a 13-1 record. Their only loss of the season was a one-point loss on Jan. 22 to Meade County.

The Lady Tigers came out strong, outscoring the Lady Trojans 16-14 in the first quarter, then following that up by outpacing Webster 16-11 in the second to take a 32-25 lead into the break.

Breckinridge County did not let up after halftime, outscoring Webster 13-8 to head to the final box with a 45-33 lead. In the fourth and final quarter the Lady Trojans would battle back, outscoring the Lady Tigers 24-18, but it wasn’t enough. Webster County suffered their 7th loss of the season by 5 points with a score of 62-57. The Lady Trojans would fall to (5-7) on the season while the Lady Tigers improved to (13-1).

The leading scorer for the Lady Trojans was junior forward Raigan Price with 20 points while shooting 3 for 4 from the free throw line on the day. Senior forward Adeline McDyer tallied 15 points while knocking down 3 three pointers and grabbing 5 rebounds. Sophomore guard Brooklyn Clark contributed 10 points while shooting 2 for 2 from the free throw line and knocking down 2 three pointers while also grabbing 5 rebounds. Sophomore guard Katelyn Cates scored 5 points while 8th grade forward Hannah Yates tallied 4 points. To round out the scoring for the Lady Trojans, junior guard Madison Hinton added 3 points and grabbed 4 rebounds on the day.

As a team, the Lady Trojans shot 6 for 8 from the free throw line and knocked down 9 three pointers while grabbing 21 total rebounds on the day.

The Lady Trojans were scheduled to play last night against the McLean County Lady Cougars but that game was cancelled due to bad weather and road conditions. The Lady Trojans are scheduled to play tomorrow night at Henderson against 6th District rival the Henderson County Lady Colonels at 5:30 P.M.
