The Lady Storm knocked off the Hopkins County Central Lady Storm last week before dropping a pair of games against Elizabethtown and Marshall County.

The (0-1) Webster County Lady Trojans went on the road last Tuesday night, against the Hopkins County Central Lady Storm.

The Lady Trojans started the game by outscoring the Lady Storm 17-7 at the end of the first quarter. Then in the second quarter the Lady Trojans would again outscore the Lady Storm 24-12 to give the Lady Trojans a 22 point lead at halftime with the score 41-19.

Then to start the second half the Lady Trojans played solid defense and held the Lady Storm to only 3 points while the Lady Trojans scored 29 points, as the Lady Trojans continued to dominate and be in the lead by 48 points heading into the fourth quarter with the score being 70-22. Then in the fourth and final quarter the Lady Trojans would again outscore the Lady Storm 9-8 as the Trojans would come away with their first win this season as they ended up winning by 49 points with the score being 79-30. The Lady Trojans would improve to (1-1) on the season while the Lady Storm would fall to (1-1).

The leading scorer for the Lady Trojans was sophomore guard Brooklyn Clark with 23 points while shooting 3 for 4 from the free throw line and knocking down 2 three pointers and grabbing 3 rebounds on the night. Junior forward Raigan Price tallied 16 points while shooting 2 for 2 from the free throw line and knocking down 2 three pointers and grabbing 7 rebounds. Sophomore guard Katelyn Cates scored 11 points while knocking down 3 three pointers and grabbed 4 rebounds while 8th grade guard Hannah Yates added 6 points by knocking down 2 three pointers. Junior forward Sydney Shoulders contributed 6 points while shooting 4 for 6 from the free throw line and grabbed 3 rebounds while senior forward Adeline McDyer added 6 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Sophomore guard Brooke Shepherd and junior forward Mary Kate Rakestraw both had 4 points each. To round out the scoring for the Lady Trojans, sophomore guard Avery Hazelwood scored 3 points on the night.

As a team, the Lady Trojans shot 13 for 20 from the free throw line and knocked down 10 three pointers while also grabbing 31 total rebounds.

On Saturday the Lady Trojans headed to Elizabethtown to face the Lady Panthers.

Webster County started the game by getting outscored by the Lady Panthers 17-11 at the end of the first quarter. Then in the second quarter the Lady Trojans would again get outscored by the Lady Panthers, 22-5, as the Lady Panthers would have a 23 point lead at halftime with the score being 39-16.

Then to start the second half the Lady Trojans would once again get outscored by the Lady Panthers, 15-14, as the Lady Panthers held a solid 24 point lead heading into the fourth quarter with the score being 54-30. Then in the fourth quarter the Lady Trojans would outscore the Lady Panthers 19-16 but the Lady Trojans just couldn’t overcome the deficit and suffered their 2nd loss of the season by 21 points with the final score being 70-49.

The leading scorer for the Lady Trojans was sophomore guard Katelyn Cates with 20 points while shooting 4 for 5 from the free throw line and knocked down 4 three pointers on the night. 8th grade guard Karsyn Cates tallied 11 points while knocking down 3 three pointers and grabbing 3 rebounds. Senior forward Adeline McDyer scored 6 points and grabbed 7 rebounds while junior forward Raigan Price contributed 5 points by shooting 4 for 5 from the free throw line and grabbed 9 rebounds. Sophomore guard Brooklyn Clark scored 3 points while junior forward Mary Kate Rakestraw added 2 points. To round out the scoring for the Lady Trojans, sophomore Grayson Haynes scored 2 points on the night.

As a team, the Lady Trojans shot 4 for 7 from the free throw line and knocked down 9 three pointers while also grabbing 24 total rebounds.

The (1-2) Webster County Lady Trojans played in their first home game of the season on Monday night against the Marshall County Lady Marshals.

The Lady Trojans started the game by getting outscored by the Lady Marshals 15-9 at the end of the first quarter. Then in the second quarter the Lady Trojans would again get outscored by the Lady Marshals, 17-7, as the Lady Marshals would have a 16 point lead at halftime with the score being 32-16.

Then to start the second half the Lady Trojans would once again get outscored by the Lady Marshals, 13-10, as the Lady Marshals held a strong 19 point lead heading into the fourth and final quarter with the score being 45-26. Then in the fourth quarter the Lady Trojans would outscore the Lady Marshals 10-9 but the Lady Trojans just couldn’t overcome the offensive struggles and suffered the 3rd loss of the season by 18 points with the final score being 54-36. The Lady Trojans drop to (1-3) on the season while the Lady Marshals improve to (2-1).

The leading scorer for the Lady Trojans was junior forward Raigan Price with 10 points while shooting 2 for 2 from the free throw line. Junior forward Mary Kate Rakestraw tallied 8 points while sophomore guard Katelyn Cates contributed 6 points by knocking down 2 three pointers. 8th grade guard Karsyn Cates scored 6 points by knocking down 2 three pointers while senior forward Adeline McDyer added 4 points. To round out the scoring for the Lady Trojans, junior forward Sydney Shoulders scored 2 points on the night.

As a team, the Lady Trojans shot 4 for 6 from the free throw line while only knocking down 4 three pointers.

The Lady Trojans next game will be Friday night on the road in Paducah as they face off against the McCracken County Lady Mustangs at 7:30 P.M.
