The Webster County Lady Trojans who were 4-6 before this game continued their regular season play Saturday night on the road to take on the Lincoln County Lady Patriots in Stanford, Kentucky.

To start the game, the Lady Trojans outscored the Lady Patriots 12-6 at the end of the first quarter. Then in the second quarter the Lady Patriots would outscore the Lady Trojans 17-6 as the Lady Patriots would take a 23-18 lead at halftime.

Then in the second half the Lady Patriots would again outscore the Lady Trojans 15-12 to continue holding on to the

lead with the score being 38-30 at the end of the third quarter. In the fourth and final quarter, the Lady Trojans would make a run and outscore the Lady Patriots 13-11 and try to take the lead but fell short and was defeated by the Lady Patriots with the score being 49-43 as the Lady Trojans fall to a 4-7 record on the season.

The leading scorer for the Lady Trojans was senior point Marissa Austin with 24 points while knocking down 5 three pointers and shooting 3 for 3 from the free throw line and grabbing 7 rebounds. Junior forward Adeline McDyer tallied 9 points while shooting 1 for 2 from the free throw line and grabbing 7 rebounds of her own. Freshman forward Katelyn Cates contributed 6 points while knocking down a three pointer and shooting 1 for 2 from the free throw line and grabbing 2 rebounds. Senior forward Dezeray Browder added 2 points while grabbing 7 rebounds. To round out the scoring for the Lady Trojans, freshman guard Brooke Shepherd scored 2 points while grabbing 1 rebound of her own.

As a team, the Lady Trojans knocked down 6 three pointers and shot 5 for 7 from the free throw line and grabbing 30 rebounds. The two leading scorers for the Lincoln County Lady Patriots was senior guard Trinity Shearer with 13 points while knocking down a three pointer and junior guard Haleigh Releford with 12 points.

The Lady Trojans next game is this Saturday at 2:30 P.M. at Calloway County High School in which the Lady Trojans will take on the Calloway County Lady Lakers in the Kentucky 2A Championship Sectional Tournament.
