The (5-22) Webster County Lady Trojans softball team finished up their season by taking on the (17-14) Union County Bravettes last Thursday night on the road in Morganfield in the 6th District Semifinal game.

The Bravettes defeated the Lady Trojans in 7 innings with the final score being 12-7. The Lady Trojans finish with a (5-23) record while the Bravettes improve to (18-14).

The leading hitter for the Lady Trojans was junior catcher and second baseman Gracie Thomas with 3 hits and 1 RBI while senior first baseman Jade Jerome had 2 hits and 1 run scored while also recording 1 RBI. Senior outfielder Jennifer Weaver had 1 hit while 8th grade pitcher Chloe Papineau had 1 hit and 1 run scored while also recording 1 RBI. Junior shortstop Sydney Shoulders had 1 hit and 2 runs scored while recording 1 RBI. 8th grade outfielder Karsyn Cates had 1 hit and 2 RBI’s while freshman catcher Jenna Shelley had 1 hit and 1 run scored with 1 RBI on the night.

The Lady Trojans starting pitcher sophomore Katelyn Cates pitched 4 innings and allowed 10 hits and 6 runs while recording 3 strikeouts on the night. 8th grade pitcher Chloe Papineau pitched 1 inning and allowed 5 hits and 6 runs while recording 2 strikeouts on the night.

The Lady Trojans offensively as a team had 10 hits through 28 at bats with 7 RBI’s and 2 walked batters on the night.

Junior Gracie Thomas had the biggest bat for the Lady Trojans this season. She picked up 34 hits, including 21 RBIs and two home runs, finishing with a .486 batting average. Eighth grader Chloe Papineau had 29 hits for Webster County this season.

Katelyn Cates so the most time in the circle this season. She ptiched 64 innings, finishing with a 2-15 record and a 9.249 ERA.
