The Trojan soccer squad returned to the pitch last week, splitting their first two matches of the young, abbreviated season.

WCHS opened the year last Tuesday with a 5-1 victory at home against Trigg County.

Roberto Lara and Aurelio Pascual each put up two goals during the match, with Rocky Juan adding another. Lara and Sebastian Dorazi each had one assist on the night.

Jesus Martinez had five saves and allowed one goal.

On Thursday, the Trojans had a tougher night as they hosted the Hopkins County Central Storm, falling 4-0 in the match.

Goalie Jesus Martinez recorded eight saves and allowed four points.

The Trojans played again Tuesday night after press time. They will next host Owensboro High School on Sept. 24.
