The Trojans scored all of their points in the first half by putting up 49 points at halftime to give them a 49-6 lead over the Colonels. In the second half the Trojans played pretty solid defense and came out with the 2nd win of the season for the Trojans by defeating the Colonels 49-20 to improve the Trojans to (2-2) on the season while the Colonels fell to (0-3).
The Trojans senior quarterback Mason Wilson was 12 for 15 on the night with 216 passing yards and threw for 5 touchdowns. The leading rusher for the Trojans on the night was senior fullback Tanner Robertson who had 8 rushing attempts for 67 yards and 2 touchdowns.
The Trojans had a few other rushers with a decent amount of yardage but the Trojans had a total of 127 rushing yards on the night. The leading receiver on the night for the Trojans was senior wide receiver Livonte O’nan with 4 catches for 128 yards and 3 touchdowns. The other two receivers that had an impact in a big way were seniors Dylan Sowders and Taylor Chandler, in which, both had 1 touchdown a piece. The kicker for the Trojans has been Dylan Sowders, in which Sowders was a perfect 3 for 3 on extra point attempts on the night. The leading tackler on defense for the Trojans was senior linebacker Daniel Yates who had 7 total tackles, 2 tackles for loss, and one defensive sack on the night. Other impactful defensive players for the Trojans were senior defensive back Taylor Chandler with 7 total tackles and senior defensive lineman Dylan Sowders with 5 total tackles on the night. The Trojans defense held the Colonels to only 147 total yards on the night and the Trojans had 41 total tackles, 4 tackles for loss and 3 sackson the night.
The Trojans were supposed to face off on the road Friday night against the Ohio County Eagles in Hartford but that game has been cancelled due to Webster County being a red county from rising COVID-19 cases. The Trojans will take on the Trigg County Wildcats next Friday night, October 16th, at Trigg County in Cadiz, Kentucky at 7:00 P.M.
