The Webster County Trojans continued their football season on Friday night at home against the Union County Braves at Trojan Field in Dixon.

The Union County Braves started the game by scoring a touchdown that gave the Braves a 7-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter the Braves scored four unanswered touchdowns within nine minutes of play to give the Braves a 34-0 lead at the half.

The Trojan defense was able to stifle the Braves offense during the third quarter, but were not able to get the ball moving on the offensive side. Neither team was able to score and headed into the final period with Union County leading 34-0.

In the fourth quarter and final quarter, the Braves would score another touchdown to give them a 40-0 lead and then with less than seven minutes to go in the game the Trojans scored a touchdown and were successful with the two point conversion to make the score 40-8.

The Trojans would suffer their fourth loss of the season to fall to 2-4 on the season while the Union County Braves would improve to (3-4) on the year.

The Trojans senior quarterback Mason Wilson was 5 for 20 for only 10 passing yards on the night. The leading rusher for the Trojans on the night was senior quarterback Mason Wilson with 7 rush attempts for 13 yards and 1 touchdown. Senior receiver Taylor Chandler set up the Trojans only touchdown score in the 4th quarter by returning a kickoff for 58 yards. The leading tacklers for the Trojans was senior Mason Wilson with 8 total tackles and senior linebacker Daniel Yates with 8 total tackles too. The Trojans defense as a team had 48 total tackles, 7 tackles for loss, and 3 sacks on the night.

The Trojans will play in their final home game and close out the regular season next Friday night, November 6th, against the Butler County Bears with the kickoff at 7 P.M.
