The Webster County boys cross country team had another solid outing this past weekend as the Trojans placed 4th out of 22 high school teams in the Fast Cats Classic at Yellow Creek Park in Owensboro on Saturday morning.
Two-time defending region champion Ryan Roland led the Trojan charge once again as he ran the course in 16:26.97 to place 9th in the 237-runner field. Trevor Baker was a few spots behind Roland as he finished 17th with a 16:52.43, and Garrett West placed 28th with a 17:11.50 clocking.

Layden Wagoner was 48th with a 17:53.13, Aidan Whitsell was 71st with a 18:19.11, and Vincent Major placed 76th with a 18:28.61 time. Other times for Webster were: Luke Glazebrook, 20:08.34; Bryce Nelson, 20:21.34; Tristan Cates, 20:45.42; Marques Dame, 22:02.03; and Zachary Farris, 22:53.52.
Reese Powell led the Lady Trojans to a 13th-place finish as she placed 52nd with a 22:12.86 clocking. Grayson Haynes was 87th with a time of 23:43.66, and eighth grader Caroline Nalley ran the course in 23:56.89 to finish 96th.
Other times for Webster were: Ryleigh Powell, 24:03.81; Delani Baskett, 24:58.54; Madison Moody, 25:33.11; Drue Wyatt, 28:30.07; and Molly Utley, 36:58.09.
Both teams will be off this week before participating in the KHSAA Region 1, Class AA meet on Oct. 26 in Marshall County. The Trojans will be seeking their seventh straight region title and 9th in the 13 years that Todd Whitsell has been the head coach.
