The Webster County Kids Christmas Drive, formerly Toys For Tots, is underway and organizers are asking for generous support from area communities. This is the 33rd year of providing new toys to needy Webster County children. Chairman Keith Farrell said efforts are underway to provide toys to approximately 400 Webster County kids who will be on this year's list. He added that support is needed from throughout the county as children from all communities benefit from this program.
Toy drop-off locations include the Providence Fire Department, Independence Bank in Providence, City Buildings in Providence, Clay and Dixon. Also helping in this year's effort are Dollar General Stores in Providence, Clay and Dixon and Family Dollar in Providence. Monetary donations can be taken to the Providence Fire Department or mailed to Webster County Kids Christmas, c/o Keith Farrell, 611 Maple street, Providence, Kentucky 42450.
Anyone interested in making a donation has a short time left to do so. Funds are needed to ensure that every child on our list will have at least three new toys this Christmas. Every community in Webster County is asked to contribute as toys will be given out to children from throughout Webster County. A final big push will help this drive be a success again this year. Organizers want to thank those who have been generous thus far and urge others to partner with this program to smiles can be put on local kids faces on Christmas.
Toys will be distributed on Friday December 20th at 4:00PM at the Providence Community Center. All families on the list should pick up their toys at that time. There will be no deliveries.
