The Green River District Health Department (GRDHD) reported the first death of a Webster County resident from the Coronavirus on Wednesday. That death comes along with the report of two additional cases of the virus in the county, bringing the Webster County total number of confirmed cases to 69.

Of those 69 cases, 55 have fully recovered and one remains hospitalized.

GRDHD reported 26 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 today, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in its seven county region to 1,333, of which 1071 have fully recovered. There have been a total of 14 deaths in the GRDHD region since March.

“It is more important now than ever that you use good judgment and follow our recommendations to protect yourself and your family. The virus is still out there. Practice the three “W’s”: wear a mask, wash your hands, and watch your distance,” said Clay Horton, GRDHD Public Health Director. “We encourage anyone who has been in crowds, had close contact with people in public, or traveled recently to get tested.”
