After being closed down for several weeks due to the COVID-19 crisis, the Providence Municipal Golf and Recreation Center (PMGRC) will reopen its doors on Saturday.

The facility will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., with tee times spread out to assist with social distancing rules.

Golfers will be limited to just 18 holes, unless more tee times are available.

“You must call 270-667-5365 to set up your tee time.,” Mayor Doug Hammers stated in a release. “Two people only in pro shop at a time. Carts will be available, limited to people of the same household. Social distancing will have to be followed at all times. Please be respectful and patient.”

Hammers added that with most golf courses in the surrounding area remaining open, it was unfair to PMGRC members to make them pay to go somewhere else to play when they already had memberships in Providence.
